High on the slopes of Chli Aubrig, surrounded by the majesty of the Swiss Alps, Patrick and Lea chose to unite their lives in a ceremony that embodied both the sacred and the sublime. As a Zen monk and wedding officiant, I had the profound honor of guiding this couple through their vows in one of nature’s most beautiful cathedrals.
The mountain setting provided not just a stunning backdrop, but a powerful metaphor for marriage itself – requiring patience, perseverance, and the willingness to support each other through life’s peaks and valleys. Standing together at altitude, with the world spread below them, Patrick and Lea made their promises with the wind as witness and the eternal mountains as guardians of their commitment.
This mountain wedding ceremony reminded all present that love, like the mountains themselves, endures through seasons of change. The couple’s choice to marry in such a setting reflected their shared values of adventure, mindfulness, and connection to the natural world.
May their love be as enduring as these ancient peaks, and may they always find in each other the strength to climb life’s mountains together.
